Tools: Use an app like Blendspace, Socrative , Frolyc , Schoology , or ExitTicket. Team students up and give them study materials and prep time as a group. This is well-suited to informing you what the class as a whole understands from your teaching, but also creates an excellent study guide for students. Time: five-ten minutes.

Hicks class, they have been extending their research of rocks and minerals to create their own Blendspace lessons to teach others facts about rocks and minerals. They are even including pre-tests and post-tests in their lessons.

Explore the natural habitats of animals that your students are studying. Not sure where to start, check out this blendspace which has additional virtual field trips that I’ve used with my classes. Start small by using Google Earth to explore the world. Travel to the far-away places that your students are reading about.
