In my role as a blended learning coach, I work with a lot of teachers who are intrigued by the idea of digital notebooks. A simple alternative to creating a digital notebook using a website creator is to use Google Slides to create digital notebooks for each unit. Create a new Google Slide deck in your Google Drive.

Students at the independent station are directed to log into Google Classroom, put on headphones, and play a breathing exercise/meditation video. Students at the teacher-led small group station log in to their computers and fill out a Google Form. This time I have them reflect individually on a Google Form. Explain your answer.

The Station Rotation Model is a blended learning model where students rotate through a series of online and offline stations. This model is an easier shift for elementary teachers who are already use learning stations with students. That said, there are clear advantages to using this model at the secondary level.
