Robots are taking over college campuses. Not as android professors or virtual students, but as automated food delivery devices. The University of California at Berkeley and University of California, Los Angeles were two of the earliest colleges to welcome the food delivery robots, called the KiwiBot. It took a little while.

One I discovered this summer is Wonder Workshop’s collection of three robots — Cue, Dash, and Dot. That, by the way, is one of my favorite parts of this fun little robot.

Sergio Flores, the school’s competitive engineering coach, signed up his school and joined five other schools in the area to compete in this 2018 event sponsored by Bell Helicopter, an aircraft manufacturer whose headquarters are in Fort Worth. It was up to the team to figure out the best design for each of the competition’s events. .
