All Irving ISD high schools are 1:1 with laptops. Middle school migrant students also have laptops. They decided to start with T3 grant participants, instructional technology specialists, and high school math teachers who needed access for training materials. Irving wanted to use ePortfolios with their students.

The biggest limitation for younger students is finding materials written at an accessible reading level, but this can be overcome by focusing more on videos and finding books with a “read to me” feature. Students can independently access the necessary materials at any time during the unit.
