These FAQs relate to the Edficiency acquisition, as announced in our press release.


1 | What is being announced?

Securly, a leading provider of solutions for K-12 school safety and wellness, acquired Edficiency, an innovative flex scheduling solution, effective February 1, 2024. The Edficiency team has also transitioned to Securly to provide a seamless and uninterrupted experience for Edficiency customers.


2 | What does the Edficiency acquisition mean for Securly and its customers?

Securly’s acquisition of Edficiency’s flex scheduling solution strengthens its commitment to supporting student wellness by making it easier for K-12 districts and schools to provide personalized learning opportunities to their students. 

By adding Edficiency’s innovative flex scheduling features to its Securly Flex solution, Securly is able to offer the best and easiest-to-use flexible scheduling technology to its customers. At a time when school districts need effective ways to address learning loss and recovery, Securly’s flexible scheduling tools, Securly Flex, and now Edficiency, make it easier to provide personalized learning opportunities to students.

The long-term plan is to integrate the Edficiency flex scheduling solution with the Securly Flex product to create a new industry standard for flex scheduling in K-12 schools.

For the remainder of the 2023-24 school year, however, Securly Flex customers will experience minimal to no change. Customers will continue to use the Securly Flex software they’re familiar with and will continue to be supported by their current Securly contacts.

3 | What does the Edficiency acquisition mean for Edficiency and its customers?

For the remainder of the 2023-24 school year, Edficiency customers will experience minimal to no change in their interactions with the Edficiency product and team. Customer Support will also stay the same. Customers will continue to use the Edficiency software they’re familiar with and will continue to be supported directly by Edficiency team members, who are now part of Securly.

By adding Edficiency’s innovative flex scheduling solution to its Securly Flex product, Securly is able to offer the best and easiest-to-use flexible scheduling technology to its customers. At a time when school districts need effective ways to address learning loss and recovery, Securly’s flexible scheduling tools, Securly Flex, and now Edficiency, make it easier to provide personalized learning opportunities to students.

The long-term plan is to integrate the Edficiency flex scheduling solution with the Securly Flex product to create a new industry standard for flex scheduling in K-12 schools.  This will entail future migration for current Edficiency customers to the new combined Flex product.

Beyond flex scheduling capabilities, Edficiency customers now also have access to Securly’s complete platform of K-12 student safety and wellness technology tools, designed to keep students safe, secure, and ready to learn.

4 | What is the long-term vision for Edficiency and Securly Flex?

For the remainder of the 2023-24 school year, our plan is to maintain operations as usual for both products and ensure minimal to no changes to customers’ experience. Existing Securly Flex and Edficiency customers can continue to use the tools they’re familiar with and experience the same levels of support.

Over the coming months, we will determine how to combine both products to deliver a single, best-in-class solution that addresses the current and future flex scheduling requirements of K-12 school districts and makes it easier for them to provide personalized learning opportunities to students.

Rest assured that product improvements and changes will be communicated clearly and well in advance.


5 | How will the Edficiency acquisition affect customers in the 2024-25 school year?

In the coming months, we will be determining how best to integrate Edficiency with Securly Flex to provide a best-in-class flex scheduling solution.


6 | How can Edficiency customers get more information or support during the transition?

Edficiency customers are encouraged to reach out to their existing customer support contacts for any inquiries or support needed during the transition.


7 | How does the Edficiency acquisition affect the product roadmaps for Securly Flex and Edficiency?

The current roadmaps for both Securly Flex and Edficiency will be combined. As the integration effort gets underway, any material changes to the roadmap will be communicated.


8 | How does this affect current contracts and billing?

Edficiency customers will continue to be billed through Edficiency through March 31. From April 1 on, Edficiency customers will be billed through Securly.


9 | Will we have to purchase the entire Securly package in order to access Edficiency?

For the remainder of the 2023-24 school year, Edficiency contracts in force will not be impacted and access will continue as usual. 

Currently, Securly customers are free to purchase only those solutions that meet their needs; they are not required to purchase the entire Securly platform. Moving forward, we anticipate that this will not change. However, in the future, the combined product will be available in the marketplace as Securly Flex and new customers will be able to purchase that product.
