After having assumed the duties of both athletic director and vice principal at New Milford High School I became the principal in 2007. What I lacked was education on how all aspects of technology could be used to enhance learning. If it were not for my Personal Learning Network (PLN) I might have never changed.

It all began around 2003 when the smartphone wars started with Blackberry, but was quickly taken over by the Apple iPhone in 2007. Technology now allows for professional learning to take place anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. At this point change began to happen at a rapid pace.

The power of cooperative learning, or as Pitler et. 2007) quotes Wong and Wong (1998) on page 143 of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction That Works , "cooperating to learn", was demonstrated for me in a real and immediately applicable way. This transitions me nicely to my second learning theme for this week.

My first was Atlanta in 2007 and yeah.it 18500 Attend NECC 2007 in Atlanta and yeah.it Speaking of ISTE conferences. both intimidated and blew me away! i mean, sheesh.
