The gifted program at Eve opened two years ago as a way to increase access to Buffalo’s disproportionately white, in-demand gifted and talented programs. Jolly wrote in 2005. There are gifted dropouts. Psychologists later poked holes in that definition. Critics said it confused less-savvy parents and allowed favoritism.
