Webinar to Highlight Tips for Ed. Companies on Tackling the Charter School Market

Associate Editor

How can companies break into the charter school market, and make more headway once they begin working with charters?

That’s an important question for education businesses to answer, because the market is projected to increase. By 2035, between 20 percent and 40 percent of U.S. students are expected to be educated in charters. But approaching the fragmented charter market is even more challenging than creating a strategy to approach the nation’s 14,000 traditional public school districts.

This week, EdWeek Market Brief is offering a resource to help companies with their efforts: a webinar on “Mastering the Charter School Market” on Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m. EDT.

Our guests, who work with charters at the national and state levels, will explain how charters operate with different rules and needs than other public schools. They will also talk about the mistakes companies make in approaching charters, and what steps vendors can take to gain ground in this growing marketplace.

Offering the national perspective will be Anna Kimsey Edwards, co-founder and chief advocacy officer of Whiteboard Advisors.

The other two presenters are Tiffany Kallevik, director of member business services for the Colorado League of Charter Schools, and Chris Busse, vice president of quality initiatives for the Texas Charter Schools Association, will give insights about how charters work in their states.
