Cincinnati, OH (April 30, 2018) — PublicSchoolWORKS is hosting its third and final School Safety Talks webinar focused on crisis prevention, preparedness and response on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. Eastern. During the webinar, titled “A Practical and Effective School Safety Program,” Coordinator of Safety & Security for Great Oaks Career Campuses Al Gille will provide his first-hand experience creating and sustaining a successful crisis prevention and response program. During the webinar, Gille will outline the crisis prevention and response program Great Oaks implemented, including student and staff training, safety drills with local emergency responders, lockdown protocols, reporting mechanisms, and physical safety hardware; and explain how districts can assess and evolve their safety programs to address new risks. Prior to his current role, Gille had vast law enforcement experience, including time as the Deer Park Police Chief, President of Ohio’s Police Activities League, and a School Resource Officer.

PublicSchoolWORKS launched School Safety Talks, a free webinar initiative with an initial focus on crisis prevention, preparedness and response, to connect schools and communities with experts on school safety. Alissa Parker, Mother of Emilie Parker and Co-founder of Safe and Sound Schools: A Sandy Hook Initiative, kicked off the series with a webinar on the lessons learned from the Sandy Hook school shooting. During the second webinar, Physical Security Professional (PSP®) and Vice President of Physical Security Services at Facilities Engineering Associates Paul Timm highlighted practical and effective physical security measures and outlined how to collaborate with emergency responders.
