Another year is in the books for MIND Research Institute, and what a year it was! We advanced our mission, strengthened our voice, and grew our partnerships. Here, we'll share just a few of the highlights from 2019.
Students in schools across the nation continued to become creative and powerful problem solvers with ST Math®. This year, we reached more than 1,285,000 students and 55,000 teachers, and expanded our impact to 48 states and over 5,000 schools.
Did you know that MIND has a portfolio of design and utility patents? This June, the U.S. Patent Office issued MIND's ninth patent! This patent covers the core of how ST Math games function. It includes the use of spatial-temporal (ST) reasoning to interact with on-screen objects following mathematical rules, informative feedback showing why solutions work or not, difficulty ramps, and error tolerance.
Through our MathMINDs initiative, we brought math to life for communities everywhere with MathMINDs Games! We created these storybook board games to combine math, history, and literacy in a highly connected experience. Through each story, families learn and play a math game as they explore real events from the game's country of origin.
A favorite highlight from this year included all of the new partnerships we formed, and growing existing ones! We were especially delighted to host several of our partners at the 2019 Partner Advisory Forum. Representatives from a diverse group of corporations and foundations challenged us to think bigger and more deeply about the impact we can achieve.
