Printing Comments Made on a Google Doc

A colleague of mine came to me today to find out the best way to print a Google Doc with the comments connected to the document. She had done some research herself about how to do this and was showing me a Word document she had downloaded with the comments on the side margin.  However, when she went to print this the comments were cut off.  We delved into the printer settings to see what was the issue but couldn’t figure it out. I then went on a hunt to solve this problem for her.

While researching this ability I came across a fantastic tool created by a teacher for teachers.

According to the developer.

“Hey, fellow Google Educators.

As you all know, when students use Google Docs comments are resolved as the work progresses making the creation of a paper trail difficult.

I created this Google Chrome Extension to address this problem. The Extension, Print Google Doc with Comments — original, right? — allows you to print a Google Doc with comments directly from the browser, eliminating the need to download an HTML or .Docx file; both of these options are troublesome with Chromebooks.”

I tested the addon and it worked as described.  A great tool to add to Chrome and Chromebooks!

To use it all you need to do is open the Google Doc you want to print and follow these steps.

I hope you find this useful!
