rSmart adds first K-12 OneCampus customer

Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union launches new dashboard powered by OneCampus

onecampus-schoolWindsor Southeast Supervisory Union (WSESU) has selected and implemented rSmart’s OneCampus to power its new Dashboard, a one-stop shop for school tasks and applications.

The app-store experience of OneCampus will provide WSESU students, faculty, and parents the ability to search and connect with information and services in one location from any device.

As a supervisory union serving students across four districts from pre-kindergarten to grade twelve, the new dashboard empowers users to quickly search for what they want to do, view details about a particular service or application, then click to launch it. Its responsive design also supports multiple devices and browsers making it easy to search by phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

“If a parent wants to view a particular school’s calendar, they can simply type ‘calendar’ into the search box and will be immediately returned a set of matching tasks. The best fit can be easily identified by the task’s name and icon, or they can view additional details. Parents can also use the drop down filters to return information specific to a particular school,” said Larry Dougher, chief information officer at WSESU.

In addition to the search functionality, Dashboard users can browse tasks by category and view the most popular tasks. Task Centers also provide an easy way to find and connect with a set of related tasks such as Curriculum for faculty or Google Apps for students.

“When evaluating new platforms for their dashboard, WSESU looked for an intuitive, easy to scale solution that could be delivered on their next-generation fiber with connectivity to the Internet2 backbone. The cloud-based OneCampus will allow administrators to remain focused on student achievement while keeping parents and faculty up-to-date,” said Tony Potts, rSmart CEO.

Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union represents the first OneCampus adoption outside of higher education. rSmart will collaborate with WSESU, a recognized innovator and technology leader, to identify best practices and product enhancements that will meet the diverse needs of K-12 schools and districts.
