Cisco Is Helping Connect Students and Teachers for Remote Learning

This blog post was originally published on March 19, 2020.

As many districts and families are dealing with school closures, the need for remote learning resources is at an all-time high. MIND has made our ST Math program free to access for parents and schools, and our partner Cisco has put together resources for remote teaching, learning and communication so that everyone can stay connected while learning remotely.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins recently issued a letter of support that outlined the efforts Cisco is taking in response to the COVID-19 situation. His letter spoke to how Cisco is going beyond customers and partners to help communities as well. “We will do whatever it takes to support those whose lives have been impacted by this pandemic and those on the frontlines,” Robbins wrote.

One of the steps Cisco has taken to keep people connected is to offer free usage of its Webex platform for remote work and communication.

On the education front, Cisco is offering the same free access to Webex, as well as resources for students and teachers about setting up and joining classes, facilitating group activities, and more. These resources include webinars, as well as quick start guides for both students and teachers.

Educators can use ST Math and Webex together to create connected, powerful learning experiences for their students, so that learning remotely doesn’t have to feel disconnected.

At MIND, we are so grateful for the support of our partner Cisco. Not only has Cisco been instrumental in allowing us to make ST Math a nationwide program, but their support of MIND’s teleconferencing infrastructure has supported our remote work and communication for years.

Because of Cisco, MIND is better prepared to support our ST Math schools and families, both existing and future.
