Google’s Pixelbook Go shows that school-oriented computers don’t have to be big, boring and underpowered. At just half an inch thick, the Chromebook is built of rugged magnesium alloy and has a 13.3-inch display that uses super-tough Corning Concore glass.
Available in Black or Not Pink (actually, peach colored), the Pixelbook Go has a thoughtfully ribbed back that can help keep it from being accidentally dropped.
Inside, the $650 base model is built around an Intel M3 processor and includes 8GB of RAM and 64GB of solid-state storage space while the high-end $1,399 Pixelbook Go has a Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Regardless of which you get, the system has creature comforts, like a Titan C security chip, a backlit keyboard and, happily, its battery can last for a full day of schoolwork as well as add two hours of use with only a 20-minute charge.
