I attended my second Edcamp Boston Saturday, making it my 3rd official "unconference." Edcamps are really more of a movement than anything, an acknowledgment that we as educators have so much we can learn from each other! Edcamp Boston was a great experience. The day ended with the classic alternative PD session, a "Smackdown."

Attendance at the UnCon wasn’t great but every edcamp (another uncon) I’ve ever attended started small and built over time. I love the edcamp model of unCon. To me, a free event, participant driven and organized with minimal sponsors present, makes for great discussion.

From that point forward, we started an adventure to create edCamp New Jersey which topped out at over 1,000 educators one year and was visited by the local cops because of the overflow of parking at the school building.
