STEM Resources From ETA hand2mind Are First Supplemental Programs to Earn Approved Endorsement From STEM.org

VERNON HILLS, Illinois – May 22, 2018 – ETA hand2mindtoday announced STEM in Action, STEM at Play and STEM Bins are the first supplemental programs to earn the STEM Approved “Trustmark” from STEM.org™. More than 4,500 schools, districts, organizations, corporate clients, NGOs and government agencies around the world turn to STEM.org for everything they need to build and maintain sustainable, preK-16 STEM programs.

According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in occupations related to STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—is projected to grow to more than 9 million between 2012 and 2022. That's an increase of about 1 million jobs over 2012 employment levels.

“With the anticipated explosive growth in STEM careers, it is critical we ensure that even the youngest learners begin to develop the skills and thinking abilities to excel in those subjects,” said Andrew B. Raupp, founder and executive director, STEM.org. “The hands-on learning activities in ETA hand2mind’s STEM kits will put students on the path to exploring and pursuing STEM learning opportunities and careers.”

Recently certified by Change the Equation’s STEMworks, an honor roll of STEM programs that meet high standards for quality and impact, STEM in Actionseamlessly integrate STEM skills into lessons using real-world problems. Modules focus on the Engineering Design Process, a critical component of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), state standards and national initiatives. The materials are teacher-friendly and provide flexibility for use in centers, classrooms, STEM labs, STEM camps, afterschool programs and summer school. Twenty-seven STEM in Action modules cover the major science genres: life, earth and physical, and range from preK through middle school.

New in 2018, STEM Binsby Brooke Brown is a creative and developmentally appropriate form of learning engineering skills for students in grades K-5. STEM Bins encourages students to explore engineering concepts in their own ways. The open-ended, hands-on activities align with NGSS and state standards.

Designed for students in grades 3-12, STEM at Playbrings science concepts to life through hands-on activities and experiments that spark interest, inspire confidence and prompt creative critical-thinking skills. STEM at Play kits provide materials to support scholastic goals while keeping at-home learning fun. Lab kits cover slime making, chemistry, rocket science, volcanoes and fossils, candy making, water science, combustion science, and soap making.

“Our team works closely with educators to learn about the unique challenges they face when implementing hands-on STEM education in the classroom,” said Bill Chiasson, president, ETA hand2mind. ”Our range of STEM solutions were created to engage students, from preK to middle school, in a fun and exciting way that may start them on the road to pursuing a career in a STEM-related field. We are pleased to earn STEM.org’s seal of approval for our innovative STEM products.”
