Here’s how to leverage federal funds for STEM education
The U.S. Department of Education has issued guidance around leveraging federal funds for STEM education in an attempt to close the equity and opportunity gaps that persist for historically underserved students. A letter directed to states, school districts and schools offers examples of how federal funds can serve to support the development, implementation and expansion of STEM education and learning experiences to improve student achievement.

How gamification is driving learning space design
Gamification is moving from simple novelty to a valid pedagogical approach that can deliver powerful learning experiences in higher education and K-12 classrooms alike—and this growth has led to changes in how educators approach their classrooms and physical learning spaces.

Online petition urges computer science education funding
An online petition urges Congress to provide $250 million to help schools and districts integrate computer science into the curriculum. In a letter sent to Congress, the authors note that technology is quickly changing society, and “participating in this world requires access to computer science in our schools.”
