Let’s Play Matchmaker: Connecting Edtechs & Educators @JuneLabs #edchat #edtechchat

As educators, we all know it’s never simply about finding the perfect tech tool; however, finding and customizing the right tech tool can transform a classroom. How did the flipped classroom begin for me? I was looking for a way to dramatically decrease the time that I was spending at the board on a daily basis in my AP Calculus class. I stumbled across Camtasia Studio and bam, I knew I was looking at an answer. It was a big piece of my answer, but it wasn’t the perfect solution. Lucky for me, an awesome team of education-focused individuals work at TechSmith (makers of Camtasia). They read my emails, invited me to beta groups, hopped on the phone with me and kept the feedback loop constantly open.

Now enter the mission of June Labs: to bring together exceptional teachers with developers to drive the creation of new learning tools. I believe that edtech and teachers are already having many conversations, but is there a way to facilitate and optimize these connections? I’m curious to find out and am excited to have hopped on their team as we explore ways to improve educational tools. If you share a similar interest, complete your profile at junelabs.com to stay informed of paid opportunities to join teacher design teams on Google Hangout or other planning sessions with edtech startups. It’s definitely an exciting time in education, and I can’t wait to see what’s next! Learn on :)
