Does ST Math provide equitable access for students in special education? Yes! Christine Byrd and MIND’s Chief Data Science Officer Andrew Coulson acknowledged the unique challenges that students face in their learning process. A recent analysis of ST Math students in Texas found dramatic improvements on percent of students meeting proficiency on the state’s STAAR test school performance metrics for students in the special education subgroup. Discover how ST Math improves performance for special education students.

The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Technology released a Learning Technology Effectiveness report based on over fifty research articles. This report found that learning with technology is enhanced when students are engaged in key strategies that are found in ST Math. Calli Wright, Education Engagement Manager, shared 4 Game Mechanics Driving Higher Achievement in math that align with ST Math. These game mechanics help students to build a deep conceptual understanding of math that lasts beyond testing season.

How do you celebrate success with ST Math? MIND Education Success Team, Danette Morse and Huey Pham, shared three tips that will have your school, teachers, and students setting goals and crushing them in no time! When we set goals, track those goals, and celebrate wins, it helps to hold students accountable and build a culture of problem solving and perseverance.

Dr. Regina Stewman, Principal at Sonora Elementary School in Arkansas, sat down with our MIND Education Success Team to discuss team empowerment and ST Math best practices for effective implementation. Dr. Stewman shared her journey and best implementation practices to help other administrators start their year off strong with ST Math.

How does ST Math incorporate language? A misconception of ST Math is that it is a “words-free” or “language-free” program. A fundamental aspect of ST Math’s approach is to carefully and strategically incorporate language into ST Math’s neuroscience-based design. Brian LeTendre, Director of Content and Communication, shared how ST Math's patented learning model removes language as a barrier and leverages it to reinforce conceptual understanding.

Cognitively Guided Instruction and ST Math are the perfect pair! Darcy Lewis, a teacher in Huntington Beach, California shared her experience with CGI and ST Math, and five steps to practice that will optimize your implementation and guarantee that it is done with fidelity.

With school back in session and autumn on the horizon, all of us at MIND are excited for what the new school year will bring. To celebrate, our leadership team banded together to share 10 quotes to inspire teachers and students this school year. Included are heartfelt thoughts, experiences, and even a challenge to the incredible educators out there.
