The multiple intelligences can be met and enhanced through the use of technology. Many technologies overlap and address several of the intelligences at once. With a little creativity and planning, you can create rich lessons that will meet your student’s needs and let them learn at their own pace and level.

  1. What a wonderful variety of websites! I think this is a great way to organize teaching tools and websites, classifying them according to learning style. I may link this page to my blog, if that is OK with you!

    Thanks

  2. Thanks for the information. I agree that technology in education prepares students for the future and allows them the flexibility of becoming successful in the workforce. Using this technology within the classroom will allow them to work with their peers and connect with them on another level.

Other than the online websites there are even such platforms which are specially designed for education purpose keeping in mind the hierarchy.

In our school we are using a platform named “Flinnt”. This platform works on the concept of sharing communication & information with the parents & students.

With this amazing “Flinnt” App our teachers share all the assignments, projects & study material on this. They even conduct quizzes on the same in the form of mcqs.
The school also share all the updates regarding recent news & happenings.
They even share the photographs of the events and happenings on “Flinnt” so that the parents can also stay in touch with the school in the form of photographs/videos/audios & it also make the students also feel appreciated. User name & password remains same for parents & their children so that they can access “Flinnt” from computer/mobile/laptop/tabs at anytime from anywhere.

Technology is getting way ahead now & we should use it appropriately. We can not restrict the content on websites, But on “Flinnt”, educational institutes can restrict the content they share and also usage of students.

    Such Applications should be motivated.

  3. Technology and education certainly do go hand in hand! In fact, technology, such as instructional videos, can be shaped to appeal to a variety of different learning styles. The key is to find out which styles the majority of your students prefer and then use the technologies that correspond.

  4. Today’s youth is known as the iGeneration. It has been found that the youth spend an average “7 hours and 38 minutes a day using technology” (Ives, 2012, p. 10).

Recently I wrote my Master’s Project about positively using social media to have a better impact on education. I found that the school in my area do not incorporate, social media or Web 2.0 technology. Some of the reason that were expressed on why this technology is not used range from not being beneficial, causes drama, promotes bullying, and not being familiar with it. It was upsetting to see how uninformed the administration and teaching staff is to using Web 2.0 technology.

Parents of students from the survey schools felt that their child could learn from social media. They felt that if properly used their child would learn to use it in the correct manner. They also felt that social media would take them beyond the classroom.

I believe that for teacher and schools to incorporate Web 2.0 technology such as Twitter, flickr, Voice Thread, and Pbwiki, digital citizenship needs to be taught.

Teaching digital citizenship and using the Web 2.0 technology will help students be better citizens, it will also impact their learning because it is a way that they communicate with.

It seems to be very beneficial to motivate many learners with this technology.

Thank you for the ideas of ways to use technology in the classroom.
