edWeb.net is delighted to announce that FreshGrade will be sponsoring TechTools for the Classroom, one of the largest professional learning communities on edWeb. The TechTools community hosts monthly edWebinars that help educators discover and integrate technology into the classroom to make the learning more engaging and effective for students.

The TechTools community on edWeb has been hosting edWebinars since 2010, presented by Shannon Holden, Assistant Principal at Republic Middle School in Missouri, and is an enthusiastic community of 20,000 educators all around the country and the world, who appreciate a collaborative forum for learning. We’re delighted that FreshGrade will be sponsoring this valuable online professional learning program.

To kick off their sponsorship, FreshGrade hosted an edWebinar on Developing a Growth Mindset Using Digital Portfolios on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 6 pm Eastern Time. Peter Briggs, a teacher at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, WA, shared how he encourages a growth mindset through regular communication with students and by promoting self-reflection in their digital portfolios. He also discussed how he has used digital portfolios for communicating student learning, and the benefits of allowing technology to support his teaching practices. The recording is available to view on-demand.

Lisa Schmucki, the founder and CEO of edWeb.net, commented, “It is wonderful that FreshGrade is sponsoring one of edWeb’s largest and most enthusiastic communities so we can provide the ongoing learning and support that educators need to use technology in the most effective ways.”

“At FreshGrade, we are committed to supporting the learning journey by making learning visible. An essential part of our work is enabling conversations about the learning not only between teacher and student, but also student and parent, and parent and teacher,” said Patti Smith, FreshGrade VP Marketing. “Through our sponsorship of the TechTools community on edWeb, we look forward to learning more about our educators’ practices in the classroom, and supporting the professional development goals of our community’s members.”

Educators are invited to join the free TechTools for the Classroom professional learning community on edWeb.net at www.edweb.net/techtools.

Members will be invited to edWeb’s free edWebinars, a lively, real-time exchange of ideas with experts and colleagues. All edWebinars are recorded for on-demand viewing at any time. Educators earn a CE certificate for attending live or viewing the recording.
