Pearson to Host Assessment for Learning Community on edWeb

edWeb.net, an award-winning professional learning network, today joined forces with Pearson on its professional learning community, Assessment for Learning. Hosted on edWeb, the site will provide an online forum where educators can learn from top experts to improve assessment practices, explore new tools, and personalize teaching for every child.

Pearson will kick off its sponsorship with the edWebinar Top 5 Considerations for Selecting Interim Assessments, on February 6th at 3 pm Eastern Time, featuring Amy Reilly, Director of Innovative Solutions at Pearson. Amy will focus on the top five considerations to keep in mind when evaluating solutions. She will also answer questions such as how to select and implement assessments while balancing concerns of over testing and time away from instruction.

The Assessment for Learning community hosts a series of edWebinars where educators and experts can share best practices and innovative ideas in real time. All programs are recorded and archived in the community for viewing at any time. Members of the community earn CE certificates for attending or viewing any of the community’s programs and can join in online discussions to share additional ideas and resources on an ongoing basis.

Bob Sanders, Vice President of Sales Operations and Business Development for Pearson noted, “We’re thrilled to partner with edWeb in an effort to reach more educators on such important assessment topics. Assessment for Learning provides an interactive opportunity for educators to learn from their industry-peers and have access to helpful content to assist with their day-to-day responsibilities and decision-making.”

Lisa Schmucki, the founder and CEO of edWeb.net, commented, “We’re delighted that Pearson will be sponsoring and hosting a community on assessment. It’s such an important topic, and there is so much changing in this area of education. Educators really need help keeping up with the innovations and technologies that can improve how we assess and personalize learning, and collaboration is an important way that we can help.”
