PebbleGo Health, Offers Special Educator Preview in June

Focus on Wellness, Safety, and Social and Emotional Learning

Capstone, innovative publisher of children’s educational content for schools and home, announces the release of PebbleGo™ Health, a curricular content module focused on fundamental health, wellness, safety, and social-emotional learning concepts for K-3 students. PebbleGo Health features 156 age-appropriate articles aligned with state and national curriculum standards supporting health education, as well as a range of topics to build positive social emotional skills in support of the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) framework.

From body systems and safety to self-awareness and relationships, PebbleGo Health helps students learn functional health information and develop foundational health skills. During this launch month, Capstone is offering a special Educator Preview to all educators who want to explore the new resource for free.

The module’s robust content promotes personal, family, and community health, exploring a wide-range of topics, such as: Feelings and Emotions, Health Care Visits, Health Care Workers, Healthy Habits, If You Need Help, Illnesses and Conditions, My World and My Health, Nutrition, Relationships and Friendships, Safety, Self-Awareness, and the Human Body. The module includes three extended learning exercises in each article, including a related activity and critical thinking prompts in “Share What You Know” and “Questions for Understanding.”

“Children’s physical health and their social-emotional health are incredibly important, now more than ever. During our COVID crisis, our team has worked incredibly hard to bring PebbleGo Health to market months ahead of our original launch date. Educators told us that students needed a solid foundation of age-appropriate, health-related information. Carefully curated health education and SEL content for young kids is hard to find and we hope we can help improve their overall well-being and health,” said Darin Rasmussen, VP of Digital Product Development.

PebbleGo Health launches in both English and Spanish and joins previously released modules: Animals, Biographies, Science, Social Studies, and Dinosaurs. All PebbleGo modules include text written for the needs of K-3 learners, fully narrated by professional voice-over artists with natural voice audio and text highlighting to provide essential scaffolds for emerging and struggling readers and English language learners. PebbleGo is compliant with Section 508 standards (U.S. Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973) and WCAG 2.1 AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), ensuring it’s accessible to children with vision, cognitive, physical, and hearing disabilities. PebbleGo is also mobile-responsive, improving student’s experience through intuitive touchscreen navigation and providing at-home and on-the-go access on smartphones, tablets, and computers to support school-to-home programs and independent learning.

PebbleGo uses a streamlined interface, animated highlighting, educational videos, and encompassing activities which teach students how to cite articles, create reports, and share what they’ve learned. PebbleGo has over 1.7 billion page views which equates to every K-3 student in the United States reading 7 articles. More than 4 million students use PebbleGo each year.
