TypingMaster Introduces Gamified Keyboarding Curriculum for All Grade Levels

(Chicago, IL) June 14, 2018 — One year ago, TypingMaster Inc., a leading provider of engaging keyboarding courses, introduced TypeTastic, a brand-new way for K–3 kids to learn keyboarding via games. Since then, more than 1 million children have kickstarted their typing with TypeTastic. Inspired by positive feedback and customer requests and just in time for ISTE 2018, TypingMaster today introduced TypeTastic School Edition, which includes an entire K-12 keyboarding curriculum, as well as a suite of teacher tools.

“We are delighted to announce TypeTastic School Edition,” said Petteri Väliaho, the co-founder of TypingMaster. “In today’s tech-based world, keyboarding is a language that everyone should know. Now students in all grades have a fun and inspiring way to learn typing, and their teachers have the tools to keep them on track.”

The expanded curriculum introduces students to more than 250 entertaining new keyboarding activities that cover touch-typing and fluency, numbers, and symbols. Students are taken to a thrilling island adventure to collect words and letters in alternating landscapes. Varying exercises are designed to support learning every step of the way, and the original FingerPaths keyboard helps students intuitively visualize key locations and finger movements. TypeTastic School Edition also includes all the original games that have proven to be a popular way for younger students to play their way into typing in just a few hours while having fun.

TypeTastic School Edition saves all scores in detail, making it easy for teachers to track students’ progress. Teachers can also deliver customized typing tests to assess students, or use the tests as extra material.

TypeTastic School Edition works on every device without apps or plugins. The expanded material requires an external keyboard when used on iPads. TypeTastic School Edition supports single sign-on, and it can be integrated to school directory using Active Directory Federation Services (SAML 2.0).

TypeTastic School Edition will be released in August 2018, with prices starting from $99 a year for a class of 40. A free trial is available through the TypeTastic website, along with a selection of complimentary games to help K–5 students to get familiar with the keyboard.

At the ISTE conference on June 25 and 26, TypingMaster will share TypeTastic School Edition with the education press at the PR with Panache! Storytelling Suite. To make an appointment, please contact Chris Piehler.
