CoSN 2015: What You Need to Know

It's time to gear up for this year's CoSN conference.

The leading minds behind technology in education are set to gather this month for another whirlwind Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) conference.

From March 16 to 19 in Atlanta, Ga., educators and IT leaders will share the latest in K–12 education technology. The theme for CoSN 2015, "Enabling Your Digital Leap," relates to the fundamental digital shift happening in districts across the country.

Many of the breakout sessions at this year’s conference are designed to help educators and administrators overcome the hurdles of the digital leap.

CoSN 2015 attendees can join more than 100 sessions and workshops across three focus areas: ubiquity and access, vision and leadership, and pioneering innovation. These sessions can be drilled down further through three tracks: the small district, the large district and international.

The full list of sessions is on CoSN’s website.

The opening keynote of this year’s conference will be led by Michael Fullan, former dean of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Fullan is an authority on educational reform and policymaking, as well as an award-winning author. Fullan’s keynote, “Rethinking Pedagogy for Deeper Learning,” will begin at 4:30 p.m. March 16.

The closing keynote, “CoSNx,” will involve three tech visionaries: Travis Allen, president and founder of the iSchool Initiative; Carrie Morgridge, chief disruptor at the Morgridge Family Foundation; and Ann Dunkin, CIO of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The conference's official smartphone app will make it easier to navigate and schedule your day. It’s also a quick way to keep in touch with the latest happenings on social media through the hashtag #CoSN15.

The EdTech team will provide live coverage of the event, so stay tuned for posts and videos. You can also follow @EdTech_K12 on Twitter for more updates and tweets from the keynotes.
